Expecting and ready to create your baby registry, but not sure where to start? Here are the best baby registries that you and your loved ones will adore!
With so many baby registries out there, it can be hard to know which ones are worth signing up for. Your friends and family will thank you for using these baby registries.
The best baby registries have large selections, are easy to use for all, have something for all budgets, and offer amazing perks!
This post is all about the absolute best baby registries.
Best Baby Registries
1. Amazon Baby Registry
With their massive product selection that spans all budgets and amazing perks there is no denying Amazon has one of the best baby registries. This was the first baby registry I signed up for and I’m happy I did. It’s perfect for friends and family that are online shoppers.
The Perks:
Easy to Use – Amazon provides a built in registry checklist with shoppable categories. It will automatically mark items as purchased when friends and family buy from your list. They are also able to see items that have already been purchased. This is an easy way to let them know you already have something. It will also auto-build a thank you list.
Free Welcome Box – I loved Amazon’s Free Welcome Box. The items in the box change from time to time, but you can generally expect baby bottles, pacifiers, diaper and wipe samples, and other awesome goodies. Mine included all the above as well as a baby hat and mitten set, full size bottle of baby sanitizer, and a size 6 month zoo print onesie.
The requirements to receive the welcome box were reasonable and simple to meet. All you have to do is create a baby registry, add 60% of the items from your checklist to your registry, have over $10 of purchases from your registry (by you or others), and have an active Amazon Prime account. You can get a free month of Amazon Prime here. If you are a student, you can get 6 months of Amazon Prime for free here.
If you have a SNAP EBT card, you can register it with Amazon here and get 50% off prime plus free access to Amazon Fresh. You can still do the 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime and it will be 50% off after the free month.
Completion Discount – Amazon offers a completion discount (15% for prime users & 10% otherwise) to help you complete your baby registry. The discount is available starting 60 days before your baby’s arrival date and ending 90 days after arrival. To get the discount your registry must be active for 14 days.
Free Returns – You have 1 year or 365 days to return eligible gifts that were purchased from your registry for free.
Group Gifting – Amazon allows friends and family to contribute to large items, so you don’t need to feel guilty about adding the car seat, crib, and other large items to your registry.
Diaper Fund – You can add a diaper fund to your registry. This allows friends and family to contribute up to a total of $550 for diapers. You will receive an electronic Amazon gift card that can be used for anything you may need. Tip: Before using your gift card, add the diapers and other items you need to your registry. This allows you to use the completion discount and stretch those funds even more.
Speaking of stretching your funds, Honey is a free browser extension that automatically finds and applies the best online coupon codes for you at checkout, so you can be sure to always get the best deal. Sign up for free here.
2. Walmart Baby Registry
I will always include a Walmart Registry. They have great prices, a good selection, and physical locations which is great for your last minute shoppers. I also enjoyed the ability to look at the products in a store and scan them onto my registry using their app. The selection in stores, at least in my local stores wasn’t great when I was doing my registry, but my store recently remodeled and the selection is SO much better! They now have a ton of super cute baby items and nursery displays!
The Perks
Ease of Use – Walmart’s baby registry is also very easy to use; however, it isn’t as user friendly as Amazon’s. I love the ability to add items from the store to my registry by scanning them on the app; however, it took a second for us to figure out how to do that. Because your loved ones need to remember to scan the registry at checkout, you may end up with duplicates. This is just by nature of having a physical location, so I can’t dock them on that.
Free Welcome Box – While I don’t remember exactly what was in my welcome box, I do remember being surprised by it. I wasn’t expecting it to be very good, but it was on par with Amazon’s. Their welcome box also changes occasionally, but some of the items it contained in the past include: baby shampoo, baby lotion, diaper and wipe samples, gripe water, Dr. Brown’s Anti Colic baby bottles, and pacifiers.
You can’t beat the requirements to receive Walmart’s welcome box. All you need to do is create a baby registry. The downside of this is the box goes out of stock often so you have to keep checking back to ensure you get your box.
Free Postpartum Care Box – This is a new thing they are doing that they weren’t when I had my registry with them. I think it’s super cool and am honestly a little jealous lol. After signing up to receive your free welcome box, you’ll get an email to opt in to receive the postpartum care box. You can expect items such as Frida Mom Breast Care Self Care Kit, Postnatal support smoothie mix, shea butter cream, pads, lactation sweets, vitamins, and face wash.
Free Returns – You have 1 year or 365 days to return eligible gifts that were purchased from your registry for free.
In Store Pickup – Friends and family can order online and pickup the items in the store.
Both Honey and Rakuten also offer cashback from Walmart. Both browser extensions are 100% free to sign up for and use. If you sign up for Rakuten by clicking this link here and spend $30 within 90 days, you’ll get $30 (essentially, what you bought for $30 was free!) and I’ll get $30.
3. Target Baby Registry
Like Walmart, Target has one of the best baby registries in part due to their physical locations. I can’t speak for all Targets and Walmarts, but while Walmart has certainly stepped up their game locally as far as in store baby products are concerned, Target still has more items. And it is so nice to see the products in person and sit in some of the chairs before adding them to your registry.
The Perks
Ease of Use – This baby registry was also super simple to use although it suffers from the same physical location issue that Walmart’s had. You may get duplicate items if guests forget to scan your registry at checkout.
Free Welcome Box – This was one of the most hyped free baby gifts when I was signing up for baby registries and for me, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. Free samples, pacifiers, bottles are always appreciated and come in handy, so I would definitely try to get it again. I say try, because while the requirements are simple, it is hard to find when they are in stock.
Like Walmart, the only requirement to receive your box is create a baby registry with them.
Unlike Walmart and Amazon, it isn’t free to request the welcome box online. To get it completely free, you need to go into a store to pick it up and they run out pretty quickly, so it’s important to call and check availability before you go to the store unless you are going anyway.
Completion Discount – Target offers a completion 15% discount to help you complete your baby registry. The discount is available starting 8 weeks before your expected arrival date. You can add additional items to your registry and receive the discount on those as well.
Free Returns – You have 1 year or 365 days to return eligible gifts that were purchased from your registry for free.
In Store Pickup – Friends and family can order online and pickup the items in the store.
Exclusive Deals – If you sign up for a Target baby registry, you also get 1 year of exclusive deals with Target Circle.
Both Honey and Rakuten also offer great ways to save at Target.
4. Pottery Barn Kids Baby Registry
Pottery Barn has some of the cutest baby nursery designs and furniture! I’d love to have them design my nursery corner. Or even my entire room! I wish I would have known about this registry when I was expecting my little one. They are on the pricier end, but I would register just for the perks.
The Perks
Completion Discount – They offer a completion discount to all registry members of 15% that’s valid 2 months prior to delivery and 6 months after.
Premade Registries – Pottery Barn has premade registries you can choose from to make getting started super simple.
Free Nursery Design & Registry Services – Okay, this is the one I would have loved. You can book an appointment with them and they will help you design your nursery no matter the size.
5. Crate and Barrel Baby Registry
I didn’t know Crate & Barrel existed, let alone they had a baby registry, but I wish I had. Their products are a bit more expensive, but oh so dreamy!
The Perks
Completion Discount – They offer a 15% completion discount you can use 3 months prior to and 6 months after birth.
Group Gifting – They allow group gifting, so friends and family can go in together on larger products.
Safe & Sound Products – Their products are carefully crafted to ensure baby’s comfort and safety. Their furniture is GreenGuard Gold Certified.
Call in the Experts – They offer free registry consultation and nursery design tips and guidance.
6. Babylist Registry
I enjoyed using Babylist to consolidate all my registries. They have their own store, but allow you to add items from all stores and you can consolidate your store registries here. This makes it super simple to get all the store registry perks and have everything in one easy to manage place.
The Perks
Universal Registry – With Babylist, you can add items from any store which allows you to register for items you wouldn’t be able to include on other registries. Your friends and family can mark items as purchased on the baby registry to prevent duplicates. They also allow you to sync your store registries so that loved ones can easily see everything without having to search various store registries for your baby registry.
Completion Discount – They offer a 15% completion discount to their store.
Personal & Meaningful – Gifts such as home-cooked meals (literally one of the best gifts!), house cleaning, and dog walking can be added to the Babylist registry.
Hello Baby Box – They also offer a welcome box; however, you have to pay shipping and tax (typically around $10), so it isn’t completely free.
Their eligibility requirements are also steeper than other registries. To qualify you must:
- Include 3 items from their store on your registry
- Include 3 items from other stores on your registry
- Purchase at least $30 worth of items from their shop – this can be something you purchase or an item bought from your registry by a loved one
- and pay shipping and tax
7. Myregistry Baby Registry
Myregistry is also a universal baby registry. Like Babylist, Myregistry allows you to sync other registries in one place; however, it works a bit better than Babylist on this part. On Myregistry, items from other registries show directly on your list where on Babylist, links to the other registries appear. I didn’t find out about Myregistry until month 9, so I didn’t get a chance to use it.
The Perks
Universal Baby Registry – Add gifts from anywhere to your baby registry and see each product on the same page. Simply click “Add to MyRegistry.com” button to add baby essentials to your registry. They also allow you to add items to your registry from stores. Simply scan the item’s barcode with their app.
Cash Gifts – They allow you to register for cash gift funds instead of just products and gift cards.
Retail Partners – They have a list of retail partners that offer registries and their perks, so you can easily create registries with the individual stores, get the perks, and have all the items show up on your registry.
Brick and Mortar Items – Snap a picture of items in brick and mortar stores that don’t have websites to add it to your registry. Be sure to add a information to let guests know where to purchase the item.
Concierge Team – They have a team waiting to help you with every aspect of your registry.
